Structure of a Hydantoin Molecule
This is the basic structure for a hydantoin molecule. Phenytoin, ethotoin, mephenytoin, and fosphenytoin all fall into the category hydantoin molecules and have been used as antiepileptic agents (Fig. 277-1 ).
