Definition

Telehealth involves the use of technology for the delivery of health-related services. It encompasses the use of computers, mobile phones, and other digital devices for the communication between an expert and a service-recipient. Technological strategies involve the use of computer-based video conferencing, online teaching platforms, live coaching, and related content (Bearss et al. 2017).

Historical Background

Interventions based on applied behavior analysis (ABA) are considered evidence-based practice for individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and their families (Reichow et al. 2018). Recent studies have proven that access to ABA-based interventions early enough during child development can lead to optimal outcomes (Orinstein et al. 2014).
