Abstract
From the analysis of methodologies focused on the construction of interactive systems an adaptation is made for the construction of interactive systems based on tangible user interfaces and gamification techniques, through a well-defined process, where they are incorporated Software engineering best practices. This proposal analyzes and describes the phases for the development of interactive systems based on tangible user interfaces and gamification techniques in order to produce quality interactive systems. The use of this methodology ensures that a quality product that meets the characteristics of functionality, usability and reliability, desirable and necessary characteristics for an interactive system is produced from its early stages of development. A software prototype is also developed using the proposed methodology that replicates features of a Tangible Interface-based Application for Teaching Tactual Shape Perception and Spatial Awareness Sub-Concepts to Visually Impaired Children presented by Jafri et al. [24, 25] and includes features proposed by them such as providing the description of the figures instead of their name, the impression of their name on the tangible objects, feedback through audio, among others applying mechanics and dynamics of gamification. The development methodology involved the study of several aspects, among which are user-centered design, tangible user interfaces, gamification techniques.

In the version of this paper that was originally published, it was not mentioned that the basic idea and requirements of the application for teaching visually impaired children about shapes, presented in the case study, had been taken from the Jafri et al.'s work (see below). Therefore the following references have been added:
