Abstract

The framing of the electronic frontier from the previous chapter is shaped by globalization, new ICT tools, and the Internet and their influence on the society and economy. The definition of the electronic frontier was based on the emphasis on frontier metamorphosis and on the presentation of the socioeconomic evolution of the Union, which would warrant this metamorphosis of frontiers into the digital age.

Notes

  1. 1.

The 2015 indicator for this variable is considered unreliable because of lacking data from 4 Member States, as well as changes in methodology from other States. Hence, the 2014 figures were chosen instead.
