Sexual dysfunction - one year post-‘Viagra’

Abstract

It is just over a year since sildenafil [‘Viagra’] was launched in the US for the treatment of erectile dysfunction. The earlier identification of a physiological mechanism in erectile dysfunction has opened up a whole new therapeutic world. Delegates at the 94th Annual Meeting of the American Urological Association [ Dallas, US; May 1999 ] were updated with the latest data on sildenafil, including promising results from a study in women, and combination therapy with alprostadil.
