Managing Cyber Stalking in Electronic Workplaces
The emerging trends of using ICT to commit crimes such as cyber stalking in the modern workplaces have become prevalent in recent years. Unfortunately in Malaysia, the legislation in governing such crime is rather deficient. It is within this context that the paper seeks to examine
the nature of cyber stalking and its governance modalities from legal and non-legal ones that could be adopted by organisations in managing such crime or risk. This paper employs a doctrinal content analysis from secondary data including the relevant laws, academic journals, books and online
databases. The authors contend that given the inadequacy of the current legislation in dealing with such crime, corporate enterprises would need to resort to comprehensive non-legal modalities encompassing organizational norms involving ICT usage and anti-harassment policies to awareness and
educative programs and training to implementing electronic surveillance systems and monitoring policies.
