ABSTRACT

For hazard classication, only the intrinsic hazardous properties of chemicals are considered. Hazard classication steps include (1) identication of relevant data regarding chemical hazards, (2) subsequent review of those data to determine the associated chemical hazards, and (3) determination of whether the chemical will be classied as hazardous and the degree of hazard. For many hazard classes, the criteria are semiquantitative or qualitative and expert judgment is required to interpret the data for classication.
