This chart shows the percentage of citations to ACS Macro Letters whose citing paper shares at least one author with the paper it cites. This asks a different question from the journal self-citation rate: whether researchers are citing themselves, rather than whether the journal is citing itself. Papers listing more than 100 authors are excluded from both the numerator and the denominator, because a large collaboration shares an author with almost everything it cites.
